Description of Work

Task 7.1 Development and implementation of DEC plan and updates, M1-M60.

Lead FARA, with support from CABI and all consortium partners. T7.1 will develop and implement the Dissemination, Exploitation and Communications (DEC) plan (D7.1) during the inception phase. The plan will be shared with all consortium and key partners and updated at the end of each reporting period during M20 (D7.2), M40 (D7.3), and M60 (D7.4). T7.1 will further focus on the creation of communication materials (D7.5) on AUSO and disseminate the information through invite-only workshops, webinars and industry events, and creating and sharing newsletters, news articles and blog posts to disseminate online through different social media platforms, as well as on the AUSO website (D1.1), with an emphasis on key target audiences, as defined in the stakeholder engagement plan (T7.2) and DEC plan.

Key engagements, such as the continental roadmap development workshops (T2.7) will be leveraged to disseminate information. Communication activities will be monitored and adjusted during the project as required. T7.1 will include key messages on AUSO in all AU languages. Exploitation of the project’s results will be used throughout the project as they become available and will continue after the project has ended. These results will be presented at various suitable opportunities, including various conferences and workshops during the project. The DEC plan will include the key objectives, key messages, target audiences, partners involved, planned tools and channels for dissemination and implementation, planned events, methods to disseminate and exploit project results, and a monitoring and evaluation methodology including KPIs to measure and monitor the outreach and impact of the plan’s implementation. The final DEC plan will include the final sustainability plan developed under T2.8.

To optimize exploitation, the key exploitable results will be identified throughout the life of the project for incorporation into the DEC plan. This will be achieved through T1.1, where the project manager and scientific coordinator, supported by ISRIC and the WP leaders, will track progress in project implementation and ensure the continuous identification of exploitable results by all task leaders. The exploitable results will be communicated to the project manager and scientific coordinator through the WP leaders, who will be responsible for continuous follow-up with their respective task leaders. The list of exploitable results will include all scientific publications emanating from the project.

Task 7.2 Maintain a network of relevant projects, initiatives, and institutions, M1-M60

Lead FARA, with support from AFAAS and all consortium partners. T7.2 will maintain an active stakeholder network (D7.6), which is built on existing networks identified under T2.2 and T2.3 to increase awareness and support from stakeholders. The network will disseminate project findings and learning to stakeholders through papers, webinars, and other networking activities. We will develop a stakeholder engagement plan (D7.7), which will include a strategy to achieve policy goals and a feedback mechanism to collect feedback from stakeholders. The stakeholder engagement plan will be monitored and updated after month 36 (D7.8) to address challenges and manage risks associated with low stakeholder activity.

A final stakeholder engagement plan (D7.9) will be developed at the end of the project to guide the continuous engagement of stakeholders after the project has ended. AUSO will contribute to and benefit from the activities of the Mission Soil Platform including participating in clustering activities with other Mission Soil projects and, if requested, continuously report on the progress of the action by updating every six months the information on the different sections of the Continuous Reporting tool in the Funding and Tenders Portal.

Task 7.3 Develop a research and innovation agenda, M53-M58

Lead FARA, with support from AFAAS and all consortium partners. T7.3 will use the network from T7.2 to develop a core group of institutions and persons that can shape the research and innovation agenda (D7.8) as part of AUSO’s future development and sustainability plan, which is based on priorities from other WPs.
